From Andy Kessler at WSJ: Beyond the R1 University

My undergraduate class has been considering this problem as part of their midterm paper, here. My reading for some time has been that the authors of Project 2025 are aware of Science: The Endless Frontier and reject its usefulness for today. Kessler’s op ed in today’s WSJ opens a window into an alternative that represents a scaled-up up of what existed before the Second World War in institutions such as Bell Labs and the Carnegie Institution of Washington.
